1914 - ★SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth is scuttled at Tsingtao.
SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth is scuttled when the German naval base of Tsingtao surrenders to the Japanese in World War I.
SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth was a Kaiser Franz Josef class protected cruiser of the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Named in honor of the Empress Elisabeth, consort of Emperor Franz Josef, the cruiser was designed for overseas service and in fact was stationed in China at the outbreak of World War I in 1914.
In fact, Elisabeth of Bavaria herself had been assassinated on Septenber 10, 1898. The day was the day when Matsudaira Motoyasu (the future third unifier of Japan, Tokugawa Ieyasu) changed his name from Motoyasu to Ieyasu.
It is obvious that the Japanese navy attacked the SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth on November 2 (September 15, according to the Japanese calendar) in commemoration of the Battle of Sekigahara.

Since January 10, 2000, Coming-of-Age Day has been celebrated on the second Monday of every January in Japan. It is highly probable that King was Japanese and that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is the American-style Coming-of-Age Day.
