August 31, 642 - ▼"Empress Kogyoku" does a rainmaking successfully.
According to the Nihon Shoki (The Chronicles of Japan), on July 25, 642, Buddhist monks were ordered to do a rain-making ritual, but in vain. On the other hand, when Empress Kogyoku did a rainmaking on August 31, it suddenly began to rain heavily, continuing to rain for five days.
