1985 - ◆Nagashi Yamamoto(山本長) is sworn in as Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard.
He retires as Director-General of the Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Transport.
Yamamoto retired as Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard on June 14, 1986. But a documentary film which was released on the same day, "Za shokkusu: sekai no mokugekisha", actually included a remote-controlled plane crash test, strongly insinuating the crash of Japan Airlines Flight 123.
