◆The September 11 attacks take place in the United States.
Airplane hijackings result in the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City, damage to The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the crashing of a passenger airliner near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
※
In 2001, NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) broadcasted the annual, year-long historical fiction television series "Tokimune Hojo". Just before the September 11 attacks, the theme for the September 9 program was "Mongol invasions of Japan", marvellously hinting the imminent terrorist attacks.
※
These attacks took place on July 24, 2001 in the Japanese calendar. And these attacks actually commemorated the 100th anniversary of the assassination of US President William McKinley. The assassination was attempted on September 6, 1901 (July 24, 1901 in the Japanese calendar). In fact the assassination was originally Japan's conspiracy.
